BBQ Chicken Toastie


  • 2 slices wholegrain bread
  • OR 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 100g BBQ chicken
  • OR 100g grilled chicken
  • OR 1 tin chicken
  • 1 slice cheese
  • BBQ sauce
  • AND/OR sweet chilli sauce
  • butter
  • margarine
  • side salad (lettuce, tomato, carrot, beetroot, cucumber, etc.)


  • Spread butter or margarine over bread if desired.
  • Spread avocado on bread, then top with chicken and cheese.
  • Spread outside of sandwich with butter/margarine if needed and toast for a few minutes until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  • Serve with a side salad and any other sides as per meal plan.

Gluten Free adaptable:
Switch bread for Gluten Free alternative.

FODMAP adaptable:
Choose low FODMAP bread (eg. spelt sourdough, gluten free).
Keep avocado to 1/8 per serve.
Keep beetroot to 1 slice per serve.
Keep sauce to 1tbsp per serve.
