This Ferrero Rocher inspired bliss balls recipe is dangerously decadent and guaranteed to satisfy.
Prep Time 15 minutes Cook Time N/A Difficulty Easy Serves Makes 8 - 10 balls
Ingredients
1/2 cup roasted hazelnuts
10 hazelnuts (whole - extra for the centre)
1/2 cup nuts of your choice
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 cup pitted dates
3 tbsp dark roasted peanut butter
2 tsp cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
4 squares Lindt 70% dark chocolate
2 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
Method
Add the 1/2 cup of hazelnuts, nuts of your choice and rolled oats to a blender and pulse until you get a coarse texture.
Add the dates, nut butter, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, salt and maple syrup (if using) to the blender and blend until a doughy texture starts to form.
Take 1-2 tablespoons of mixture and press 1 of the whole hazelnuts into the centre.
Press and roll the mixture into a ball. (The mixture is coarse so you will need to press tightly)
Repeat until you have made 8-10 balls.
Place formed balls into a container lined with baking paper and pop them in the freezer for 5 minutes.
Meanwhile break up the dark chocolate squares and place into a microwave safe bowl.
Microwave in 15-20 second increments and stir until the chocolate has melted.
Remove the bliss balls from freezer and dip into the melted chocolate.
Place chocolate coated balls back into the lined container and freeze for a further 5 minutes or until the chocolate has set.
Enjoy!
Texture: The mixture is coarse, if you blend the nuts at step 1 for long enough you can get a smoother consistency.
