Home-made Popcorn

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tbsp plain popcorn kernels
  • 1 tsp extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
  • 1 tsp seasoning of your choice

Method

  • Add popcorn kernels into a brown paper bag. Fold the edge of the bag twice over.
  • Cook in microwave for 2 - 2 1/2 minutes until you hear pauses of ~2seconds between pops.
  • Carefully open bag to avoid steam. Pour popcorn into a bowl. Toss through oil and choice of seasoning.
  • Serve immediately of store in an air tight container to enjoy later.

Flavour Combos to Try:

  • Lightly Salted (1/2 salt)
  • Bit of Spice (1/2 tsp chilli flakes + 1/2 tsp sumac + garlic infused EVOO – optional)
  • Sweet & Salty (1/2 tsp sugar + 1/2 tsp salt)
  • Cinnamon (1/2 tsp sugar + 1/2 tsp cinnamon)
  • Cheesy popcorn (omit EVOO + 1-2tbsp grated cheese)
