Oat Slice

Ingredients

  • 4 cups rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup sugar of your choice
  • OR 1/3 cup sweetener of your choice (increase to 1/2 cup for portables)
  • 3 eggs
  • 40ml melted coconut oil
  • OR 40g melted butter
  • 60mL milk
  • OR 60mL milk of your choice (we use coconut milk)
  • 5ml vanilla extract
  • 70g choc chips (optional)

Method

  • Preheat fan-forced oven to 180deg and grease a slice tin with a light smear of butter or spray oil.
  • With a food processor, blitz the oats briefly (or use quick oats).
  • Add the sugar, eggs, oil, milk and vanilla to the oats and mix well in the food processor or electric beaters until well combined.
  • Stir through your chosen mix ins.
  • Press mix into a greased slice tin and bake in oven for 15-20mins
  • Once cooled, slice into 12 bars.

In this recipe we used a combination of pepitas, choc chips and cranberries!

Thermomix Instructions: 

1. Preheat fan-forced oven to 180deg and grease a slice tin with a light smear of butter or spray oil.

2. Add oats to mixer bowl , chop for 3 sec | Sp 5 | MC on

3. Add the sugar, eggs, oil, milk and vanilla to the oats and mix for 10 sec | Sp 4 | MC on

4. Finally add your chosen flavour additions and mix for a further 5 sec | Sp 3 | MC on

5. Press mix into a greased slice tin and bake in oven for 15-20mins

6. Once cooled, slice into 12 bars.
